Skaivi (born as Sara Silaj on March 12, 2003 in Chicago) is a musician of Polish and Slovak descent who produces and writes her own electronic, magical worlds, with an overall life mission of helping those who need healing.  Her focus on duality and experimentation means she flies through different musical lands and mixes together all sorts of sounds in her discography, from dark alternative to sweet dance-pop. Edginess and playfulness both coexist in Skaivi's realm. That's why she also has fun with embodying the persona of being a wizard of music and crafting a mystical aesthetic. It's not a costume either. Skaivi genuinely believes that music is a beautiful form of magic that can heal the soul on a deep level. That is especially true when the songwriting is authentically from the heart, which Skaivi makes sure to do with her always-raw and often poetic or medieval-like lyricism. Other than using her sorcerer powers on casting her melodious spells, she also uses them to bring people together. Growing up in Chicago as a Slavic-American child of two immigrants (from Stalowa Wola and Dvorianky), Skaivi has often felt like she was in between two different places. Instead of letting that alienate her, she decided to use that to inspire her to explore her roots even more, and to bring people together: Skaivi as the bridge between the U.S. and Poland, and the bridge between the U.S. and Slovakia. She hopes to bring Poland and Slovakia (the cultures, the music) onto the forefront of the international stage. While she does so, she is continuing to strengthen her use of the Polish language, and she also plans to learn Slovak as well. Skaivi will always be a proud Slavic-American and is happy to champion Central Europe to the world.
